WHY THESE COASTERS
The five-second first impression
A coaster is the smallest piece of wood in the house and somehow the most examined — every guest picks one up. Olive wood makes that moment count: even a four-inch round carries full marbled grain, so the set on the table reads like a collection, not an accessory. The range runs the personality spectrum — clean round and square sets for modern tables, rustic log slices with bark for the cabin mood, resin-edged pieces where color meets grain — most with wooden holders that keep the stack tidy. And because small wood engraves beautifully, the personalized side is deep: monograms, family names with est. dates, logos for the office, and the fan favorite — your dog's portrait, one face per coaster. Food-safe finished, condensation-tested by every summer drink we've owned.
Wooden coasters, answered
Do wooden coasters actually protect the table?
That's their whole job, and wood does it well — the coaster takes the condensation ring, the heat, and the drips so the table doesn't. Olive's density and food-safe finish shrug off moisture from sweating glasses; just let a soaked coaster air-dry before restacking, and it'll protect for years.
What's the difference between the regular, live edge, and resin coasters?
Character, mostly. The round and square sets are the clean, classic look — pure grain, tidy edges. Live edge slices are cut straight across a branch or trunk, bark ring intact — the rustic, from-the-woods mood. Resin coasters pair the wood with a poured color edge for something more contemporary. Same protection, three different tables.
Can coasters be personalized?
Deeply — small canvases, big options. Single-letter monograms, the family name with an established date, a short phrase per coaster, company logos for desks and client gifts, and portrait sets where each coaster carries a different pet's engraved face. Do the sets come with a holder?
Most do — wooden holders that match the coasters, from clean modern stands to the rustic log holder that looks like the coasters were sliced straight from it (they nearly were). The holder solves the real coaster problem: keeping four small circles findable.
Are engraved coasters a good gift?
One of the most reliable small gifts we make — useful daily, personal by design, and priced for occasions that don't warrant a board. Housewarmings, offices, hostess thank-yous, and the dog-lover who has everything except their dog's face under a glass of wine.
Want a name on it?
