Wooden Bowls, turned from one piece

WHY THESE BOWLS

A bowl that used to be a tree, visibly

Every bowl here starts as one solid piece of olive wood and gets turned into shape — no glued staves, no seams, just the tree's own grain wrapping the whole form. That's why no two are alike, and why some wear their history on the rim: the live edge bowls keep the bark, so the salad sits inside what is unmistakably a tree. The range covers the working table — small bowl sets for snacks and sides, big fruit and salad bowls, long bread bowls, sectioned dishes for olives and dips — plus the decorative pieces that hold keys and jewelry as gracefully as produce. Smooth or bark-edged, every food-facing surface is finished food-safe. Between the one-piece build and olive's density, these are bowls that get inherited, not replaced.

QUESTIONS

Wooden bowls, answered

Excellent for it — olive wood is dense and closed-grained, so it resists absorbing moisture, oils, and odors, and the food-safe finish means salad, bread, fruit, and snacks all serve directly. The practical exception is anything soupy or left standing wet for hours; wood serves the meal, the sink soaks the pot.

Each bowl is carved from a single block of olive wood rather than glued from segments. One piece means no seams to open over time, grain that flows unbroken around the form, and a bowl that's structurally as solid as the tree it came from. It's also why sizes and patterns vary — the tree sets the limits.

A bowl where the natural edge of the wood — often with bark — is kept along the rim instead of being turned smooth. It's the same idea as our live edge boards: the tree's own outline as the design. Live edge bowls lean serving-and-statement; smooth-rimmed bowls are the everyday workhorses.

Hand wash, dry promptly, and oil with food-grade mineral oil when the wood looks dry — same easy routine as all our kitchenware. Don't soak it, don't dishwasher it, and don't leave dressing standing in it overnight. That's the entire manual for a bowl that lasts generations.

The long, shallow bowls are built for bread and grazing spreads; the deep ovals and rounds handle salad and fruit for a family; small bowl sets cover snacks, sides, and prep; sectioned dishes keep olives, nuts, and dips separated on one piece. And the sculptural live edge pieces earn their keep empty — centerpiece first, fruit bowl second.
