We Believe in Better Materials

Not all wood is created equal. At Forest Decor, we’re obsessed with quality. That’s why we go to great lengths to source only the best wood from around the world — and why we inspect, sort, and grade every board by hand.

Where Our Wood Comes From

Olive Wood

Responsibly sourced from Tunisia and Italy, olive wood comes from century-old trees that no longer bear fruit. Its bold grain makes every piece unique—especially live-edge boards with natural, irregular shapes. For a consistent look, we also offer traditional cut sizes.

Maple, Cherry, and Walnut

Milled in the USA and Canada, these hardwoods are durable and timeless. Maple is light, cherry adds warm reddish tones, and walnut offers a rich dark finish. Unlike olive wood, these boards have consistent grain and sizing for a polished, uniform look.

Bamboo

Our only material sourced outside the USA, bamboo is selected in narrow grain for a smooth, elegant finish. While most use wide-grain to cut costs, we prioritize refined appearance and durability—making bamboo both eco-friendly and premium.

Our olive wood is especially prized for its unique, swirling grain and durability. But it’s also one of the hardest woods to grade consistently — no two pieces are ever the same.

Wood Grades Explained

Only about 4 out of every 10 olive wood boards we produce qualify as Grade A. Here’s how we define each grade:

A

Strong, vivid grain across most of the board. No cracks and very minimal imperfections. Reserved exclusively for our corporate and direct retail customers.

B

Mostly nice grain. May have slight cracks, partial bark missing, or unevenness. Often sold through wholesale or outlet channels.

C

Noticeable cracks, minimal grain, and rustic appearance. Sold for discounted or clearance use.

We never mix grades in corporate orders — and you’ll never receive less than Grade A when ordering from our website.

See the Difference for Yourself

Don’t just take our word for it — look at what real customers are sharing. We’re proud that our clients consistently upload review photos showcasing the rich grain and finish of our products.

Why We’re So Selective

Unlike mass-produced wood products, every board we craft starts with raw wood and is shaped, sanded, and finished by hand. That means:

  • Every piece is truly one-of-a-kind
  • Variations in grain, color, and edge are expected — and celebrated
  • Only the best become Forest Decor products

Sustainability & Respect for the Material

We use every part of the tree. Lower-grade boards are never wasted — they are either:

  • Sold to wholesale customers
  • Repurposed for internal use
  • Offered as budget-friendly options for craft or rustic projects

Our finishing oils are food-safe and eco-friendly. And by creating long-lasting gifts, we minimize the need for replacements and reduce overall waste.
