Cutting boards that carry a story
Every board is engraved to order in our workshop. A monogram for a wedding, a grandmother's handwritten recipe, a family name with the year a home was bought — the same board becomes a keepsake the moment it's personalized. Choose from olive wood, black walnut, maple, or bamboo, each with its own grain and character, and each finished with food-safe oil. Buying for a team or a business? Our custom logo cutting boards use the same craftsmanship for corporate and client gifts.
QUESTIONS
Personalized cutting boards, answered
Is it safe to cut food on the engraved area?
Yes. Engraving burns the design into the wood itself — no ink, paint, or coating — and every board is finished with food-safe oil. That said, most people engrave one side and cut on the other, so the design stays crisp for years. Boards with deep decorative engraving, like photo or recipe designs, are best treated as serving and display pieces.
Which wood should I choose for an engraved cutting board?
For engraving contrast, lighter woods win: maple and cherry give the design a clean, high-contrast canvas, which matters most for detailed work like photo sketches and handwritten recipes. Walnut is darker, and olive wood has a rich, dramatic grain — both are beautiful, but they suit simpler designs like names, monograms, and dates that don't compete with the wood itself. If you're deciding by look rather than use, browse our wooden cutting boards collection to compare the grains side by side.
How do I clean a personalized cutting board?
Hand wash with warm water and mild soap, dry it upright, and never put it in the dishwasher — heat and soaking are what crack wooden boards, engraved or not. Your board arrives already treated with food-grade mineral oil; rub in a fresh coat once a month or so to keep the wood from drying out — it actually deepens the contrast of the engraving over time.
Can the gift arrive ready to give?
Yes — that's the default, not an upgrade. Every board leaves our workshop sanded smooth and finished with food-safe mineral oil, so it's ready to use and ready to hand over the moment it arrives. At checkout you can go further: gift wrap, a free printed gift note with your message, or our keepsake gift box with the recipient's name and date in raised lettering on the lid. Sending it straight to the recipient? We never include pricing in the box.
Can I engrave a cutting board for a business or in bulk?
Yes — logo engraving is one of the most common things leaving our production floor. We handle single client gifts up to bulk orders with volume pricing, one point of contact, and your logo placed consistently across every board. What's the difference between a cutting board and a charcuterie board?
Thickness and purpose, mostly. Cutting boards are built thicker to take daily knife work; charcuterie boards are usually longer, often live edge, and made for arranging and serving. Plenty of our customers personalize one of each — see personalized charcuterie boards if the gift is more about entertaining than cooking.
Have something specific in mind?
A name with a logo, a recipe with a signature, a design we don't have listed — we take custom projects all the time. Talk to us and we'll tell you in minutes if we can engrave it (we usually can).
